Equipment Reservation
The Center for Experimental Humanities (EH) loans media equipment such as cameras, audio recorders, lighting (and much more!) to EH faculty, staff, and students. Priority is given to those working on projects directly relating to EH courses, labs, and senior projects.
A log of our inventory can be viewed here. To inquire about equipment, first review the inventory sheet and select the desired equipment. Then, reach out to the EH Developer, Misha Alia Awad ([email protected]) with the Inventory Number and name of the item(s) of interest. The Developer will process all requests and questions.
Our equipment check-out and check-in times are listed on the calendar below. Check-out and check-in dates are required with few exceptions, and must be specified during the initial check-out. If an extension is needed, please contact the Developer before equipment return is due.
When is the building available?
The Center for Experimental Humanities at New Annandale House hosts regular EH events, workshops, and meetings for EH projects and courses. Outside of these centrally scheduled times, members of the Bard community can apply to reserve the downstairs space for other activities, especially those that share Experimental Humanities’ interests in how technology and media intersect with the arts, humanities, and culture.
- Mondays-Fridays 9:30 am – 9:00 pm
- Saturdays-Sundays 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
All reserved times in the building must be staffed by
1) an EH student worker or staff member if it is an EH-related event or a student reservation
2) Bard faculty/staff who have completed an orientation to review the policies for the building and signed a letter of agreement
PLEASE NOTE: EH student workers and staff are not responsible for setting up or cleaning up the space.
The downstairs of the Center for Experimental Humanities is open to the Bard community to reserve for all kinds of student, faculty, and staff projects: hands-on workshops, digital exhibitions, game nights, lectures, screenings, performances, and more! Experimental Humanities-related events and requests based on specific need for this space will have priority in reserving the building.
The furniture in the space is reconfigurable and can accommodate seating for 16 people in chairs. Additionally, the stair case can be used for auditorium-like seating for speaking events. The garage door may be opened in fair weather to accommodate performances in the space with seating outside on the lawn. The limit on the number of occupants inside the building is 38.
Requests will be approved pending availability and confirmation of staffing for the space.
EH can make the following technology available to use for events: sound recording equipment, video and photography, limited lab laptops (4), projectors, and a 65″ TV for presentations.
Please complete THIS ONLINE FORM at least one week in advance of the event.
Requests will be approved pending availability (see calendar below) and confirmation of staffing for the space.
