Learn to Sew is a series of workshops that delves into one of the simplest technologies of humans’ past with a needle and thread, expands to the present of sewing machines, and explores the future with e-textiles. A collaboration between the Center for Experimental Humanities and Makerspace, these workshops are for anyone who feels the urge to take control of what they wear and how it’s made; for those who have never touched a sewing needle and/or sewing machine or those who are new to electronic textiles; for those who want to experience technology as our ancestors did and to create a new technological legacy for future generations.
