The next installment of the series focuses on the filmmaking practices of Charles Burnett, Julie Dash, and Bradford Young. The impact each filmmaker has had on the other along with their educational trajectories and the different settings of their films offers a unique opportunity to reflect on a longer and more nuanced history of filmmaking and film viewing in black American and rural communities. The event will also highlight the histories and practices of black filmmaking that have unfolded around university institutions.

Conversation will be moderated by Tabetha Ewing, Social Studies Division Chair and Associate Professor of Historical Studies, and Dariel Vasquez, Director of Program Design and Management at Brothers@Bard (BAB).
