Adhaar Noor Desai
Assistant Professor of Literature
Adhaar Noor Desai is Assistant Professor in the Literature Program at Bard College, Annandale. He is also one of the co-founders of the Experimental Humanities Collaborative Network, an international consortium of scholars developing innovative interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of technology, creative practice, and social justice. His scholarship, which studies theories and practices of writing pedagogy and literature’s relationship to the history of science, technology, and media has appeared in journals and collected volumes like English Literary Renaissance, Philological Quarterly, Configurations, Publicity and the Early Modern Stage, and Teaching Social Justice through Shakespeare. His first monograph, Blotted Lines: Early Modern English Literature and the Poetics of Discomposition (2023) argues that studying the writing habits of Renaissance poets can help address the contradictions inherent to writing instruction in the modern literature classroom.
