Media Corps

Media Corps students support Experimental Humanities initiatives across the college through assistance with faculty and staff projects, digital documentation of EH events, and dissemination of EH work by Bard students, faculty, and staff.

Maha Abdulwahab

Maha Abdulwahab (she/her) is a senior International student from Afghanistan in Computer Science at Bard College. Her academic journey is deeply rooted in a passion for technology, art, and social media. Maha’s interests extend to the realms of data science and artificial intelligence, where she seeks to explore the captivating intersection of these fields. She also worked on Season 3 of the EH podcast Bard Beyond Border.

 

Sarah Al Yahya

Sarah Al Yahya (she/her) is an MA student at the Center for Human Rights and the Arts. She is a creative technologist and researcher interested in digital and internet cultures in Palestine and the Arab world, open source intelligence, and the decolonial and other sociopolitical potential of new media technologies.

Neil Bhatia

Neil Bhatia (he/him) is a third-year student from Germany and India majoring in Written Arts with a concentration in Experimental Humanities. He’s interested in game and narrative design and tries to investigate them through literature/literary theory, theater (pulling from ideas of play, character, and space), and current game design trends. He’s very excited to be working as the assistant for the new S.E.I.D. (Spatial, Experiential, Interactive Design) lab this semester. Outside of academics, he volunteers as a member of Bard EMS and co-runs a TLS project called Teach4Kingston.

Elizabeth Bayer

Elizabeth Bayer (she/her) is a sophomore in Bard Conservatory and Bard College. She is studying Vocal Arts Performance and Global International Studies, while exploring her other interests in the arts. Besides singing, Elizabeth plays the piano and cello, and enjoys thinking about how music acts as a language. Outside of school, she loves being in nature and spending time with her dogs.

Catherine Chen

Catherine Chen (she/her) is a sophomore international student from China. She is studying Psychology with a minor in data analytics. She is very interested in the culture and environment in relation to geographical locations around the world, therefore, she loves talking with people from different backgrounds, and loves exploring the map. She also loves dancing (all kinds of dance), cooking, photography, and traveling. She is very excited about the new remote sensing projects related to visual presentation of mapping.

Samantha Simon

Samantha Simon (she/her) is a junior Art History and Visual Culture major with a concentration in Experimental Humanities. She is interested in the impact technology and digital literacy have on human development, digital nativity, and material/consumer culture. She’s especially passionate about the influence of media on socio-emotional development. In her free time, Samantha enjoys running, writing, cooking, engaging with all kinds of art (especially theater), and being in constant conversation. 

Teo Vales Torres

Teo Vales Torres (he/they/she) is a freshman from Puerto Rico intending to joint major in Studio Arts and Film. He is especially interested in the arts and visual perception, and how it can affect behavior through graphic design and animation. He loves animating, and is very capable of rewatching the same animated piece for hours on end. His hobbies include reading, writing, and singing.

Des Coleman

Des Coleman (She/They) is currently a second semester Sophomore studying Electronic Music Composition and Violin at Bard College. Their current interest is in acoustics and the psychology behind sound performance in relation to ethnographic study . Des plans on using their time with EH to further their knowledge in sound development and conducting research .

Anna Likhanova

Anna Likhanova (she/her) is a senior majoring in Studio Arts and Computer Science and concentrating in Experimental Humanities. Originally from Russia, Anna is passionate about human rights and the ways art and technology can become symbols of resilience. She is also interested in game design and hopes to make it her career one day.

Inju Keum

Inju Keum (she/her) is a BardBacc student and a second year Architecture major at Bard. She is from Washington Heights, NYC. She has worked as both a publisher/bookmaker  and independent artist. In the past her publishing projects have been linked to galleries and experimental art spaces in NYC, Brussels and Tokyo.
Her current project is developing and navigating a space called Fahrenheit 451 House in Catskill Village. 

Kateryna Panikhina

Kateryna Panikhina (she/her) is a sophomore international student from Ukraine, pursuing a joint major in CS and Psychology. She is passionate about exploring how we interact with technology, particularly focusing on user experience and human-computer interaction. At the EH Center, she finds joy collaborating with fellow Media Corps members, blending design and tech skills to create meaningful digital experiences. She is excited to contribute to projects that not only ask important questions about our relationship with technology but also seek innovative ways to improve those interactions for others. Outside of her academic interests, she loves singing, photography, and dreams of traveling the world, making friends along the way.
