What’s Your Story? (2013) connects the virtual world of an online game with the real world by using the player as the link. Throughout the subject’s seemingly cinematic adventure, the viewer gets foggy glimpses of the “real” world whenever the game becomes less appealing.

Pérez uses elements such as the physicality of playing the game on a computer, as well as camerawork to create the illusion of being completely immersed in the adventure. These glimpses, together with the game itself, provide an account of the player, their motives for playing, and their current struggles, both in game and out.
